Look beyond the product name
A stool usually has no backrest. A chair usually has one, with armrests on some models. Retailer naming varies, so inspect the actual specifications and photograph together.
Consider the person’s support needs
Sitting balance, fatigue and the way someone transfers all matter. If you are uncertain, ask an occupational therapist to assess the bathing setup. More features do not automatically mean a better fit.
Measure the usable shower floor
Allow for the door, drain slope, taps and the space needed by a helper. Check the chair’s footprint, seat dimensions, height range and maximum user weight before requesting a quotation.
Plan the whole wash
Have toiletries and a towel ready, keep the route clear and follow the equipment instructions. Seek hands-on guidance for any transfer or assistance you are not confident providing.
